"Hi Over again" is a song past American rock band the Cars from their 5th studio anthology, Heartbeat City (1984). It was released on October xv, 1984, as the anthology'south fourth single. The song was the quaternary pinnacle-20 entry from the album, reaching number xx on the Billboard Hot 100 nautical chart; it as well reached number eight on the Hot Dance/Disco chart and number 22 on the Top Rock Tracks chart.[4] Ric Ocasek sings lead vocals on the rails.[v]

Reception [edit]

"Hi Once more" was described as "eccentric" past AllMusic critic Greg Prato, who also cited the runway as a highlight from the Heartbeat Metropolis album.[6] Donald Guarisco, also of AllMusic, wrote, "One of their strongest tracks [on Heartbeat City with experimental roots] was 'Howdy Once again,' a fashionable new wave rocker with plenty of experimental touches."[ii] Guarisco added that it "represents the Cars striking a unique balance between their gift for pop hooks and their love of experimental sounds."[two]

In his review of the compilation album Greatest Hits (1985), Prato felt that "Hello Again" should have been included on the album, stating, "why was the title rail from Heartbeat City (an unsuccessful single) included instead of the 1984 Elevation 20 hit 'Hello Over again'?"[7]

Music video [edit]

The music video for the song was directed by Andy Warhol and Don Munroe.[8] Warhol appeared in the video equally a bartender, which was filmed at the Be-Bop Buffet in Manhattan.[9] Dianne Brill and John Sex of the downtown New York scene fabricated a cameo.[nine] A then-unknown Gina Gershon also appeared in the video. Keyboardist Greg Hawkes said, "I call up [Warhol] mainly did some of the conceptualizing and showed up to be an extra. And he invited his diverse friends to be in it. It was like whatever video shoot, just with a more interesting cast of characters. And you could always look over on the set and go 'Hey that'southward Andy Warhol.'"[x]

The music video explored the controversial topics of sexual activity and violence (mostly the former) that were being featured in music videos at the fourth dimension.
